She befriended Hayner, Pence, and Olette in Twilight Town well enough that they brought her back to their secret hideout, and she couldn't have known them more than an hour, probably less. She's very good at bolstering her friends' spirits and helping them when they feel down.<br /><br />Spunky: She's eager to get in the thick of things, and often teases her friends, Sora and Riku especially. Heck, all the way back in the first game, she clearly expresses a desire to come with Sora into the final battle, even though she has no weapon or means of defending herself, because she wants to make sure her friends are alright. This dials up to eleven once she <i>gets</i> a Keyblade and immediately charges into the thick of things, naturally.<br /><br />Self-doubting: With all the adventures and everything her friends have gone through while she was stuck at home, Kairi's come to feel a little inadequate. Made worse by her experiences being kidnapped and needing to be rescued, and especially what happened to her near the end of the Keyblade War. This side of her is one she usually keeps buried pretty deep down.<br /><br />Mediator: When her friends are having a disagreement, more often than not it's Kairi who settles things and brings them together. All the way back in the first game, Riku and Sora's conflict almost entirely took place when she wasn't around to help hold them together, and in the second one, when Riku's spent most of the game avoiding Sora, mostly out of guilt? The <i>first thing</i> that happens once they're all together is that Kairi takes their hands and brings them back to each other. Riku finally ends up joining the party almost immediately at this point.<br /><br />Forgiving: It takes a lot to get on her bad side and stay that way. Even Lea, who (as Axel) kidnapped her and brought her into the enemy's main base, where she was held as bait, ends up becoming one of her best friends once he turns sides and the two get some time to talk. And once he gets his heart back. That probably helped.<br /><br />Temper: But if someone pushes her too far, she's more than willing to let them know how badly they've screwed up. Even before she got her Keyblade, she struggled against Axel pretty aggressively (going so far as to <i>bite him</i> in the manga adaptation) and once she does get one? Her first act is to charge headlong into a swarm of Heartless to get to Sora, and one of her most recent is to go toe-to-toe with an enemy she knows she can't beat when he's taunting her, saying simply "I'm sick of this!" in response.<br /><br />Traumatized: Kairi has been <i>through some crap</i>, including being kidnapped, having her heart stripped from her body, and having it <i>shattered</i>, which was essentially like getting murdered. This has resulted in some harsh trauma she tries to keep under control... but unfortunately, it tends to feed on the abovementioned self-doubt, as represented when, while inside her own heart, she ended up facing off against essentially the manifestation of that trauma as an enemy she literally couldn't defeat on her own.<br /><br /><b>Under pressure</b>: They say light shines brightest in the darkness, and Kairi's a good example of that. Looking on the bright side is basically her coping mechanism. With the difficulties of Noctium looming ahead of her, she's liable to do everything she can to find out exactly what's needed of her, and jump into solving the problem. Of course, the fact that what they need of her is forming attachments and synchronizing with other people doesn't hurt. That's kind of what she does by nature. When upset, Kairi tends to respond with anger, but only towards legitimate targets. If there aren't any, she'll go off by herself and try to blow off some steam. Probably her biggest trip-up is fear, which can make her freeze up, but she's been working on that... But the opposite might not be any better. In combat particularly, if she's facing an opponent who seems unbeatable, that may trigger her trauma, resulting in her throwing herself into a fight she can't win.<br /><br /><b>Condition upon arrival</b>: Fit, healthy, and ready to hit the ground running.<br /><br /><b>Abilities</b>: Keyblade Wielder: She's got an ancient nigh-indestructible weapon in the shape of a giant magical key. It can be used either as a sword or a key, hence the name, and allows the bearer to cast magic and violate various laws of physics. She's about at journeyman level with it, so what she can do with it basically amounts to barriers, most of the gamut of elemental spells, some fancy bladework, and powerful light-based attacks. She's also become exceedingly good at using the Keyblade's ability to be recalled to her hand at any time, meaning disarming her is essentially impossible unless you actually do something to her hands.<br /><br />Princess of Heart: Her heart is made of pure light! This... does not usually help her much, but she can travel through areas that are usually dangerous due to darkness influence, and once she gave a friend their body back after they'd been transformed into a heartless. She was also able to prevent Sora's death in first round of the final conflict. She's <b>unfailingly kind, forgiving, and warm-hearted</b>, the sort of person who most people would be happy to sit down and have a good chat with, and it hardly ever takes long for her to begin treating someone like a good friend.<br /><br />Unless, of course, you do something to get on her bad side. Make no mistake, Kairi has a <b>temper</b>. Unfortunately for her, she also doesn't have any real methods of <i>enforcing</i> her anger on her targets. Bear witness Organization XIII, who just casually lock her in a cage until she gets sprung by Namine. She'll try her hardest, but she just doesn't have the strength to back up her will, and she's painfully <b>inexperienced</b>, not just in battle but in basically any sort of combative circumstance.<br /><br />Really, she's probably lucky none of the villains she's run into have been particularly inclined to care about her sharp tongue, since they needed her for other things. Otherwise her <b>inability to hide her emotions</b> might have gotten her in more trouble than she was already in, trouble she really wouldn't have been in any shape to handle. You can't really blame her for being left out of a lot of the adventures, since that was usually the result of circumstance, but the result is that she just hasn't had a chance to grow the way her friends have from going through those sort of things.<br /><br />Kairi's got a lot of growing up to do, despite occasional bouts of what seems like wisdom beyond her years. She's determined to do the right thing, protect her friends and do her part in protecting the worlds... but she's not really ready for the role destiny has in store for her yet. Hopefully she'll learn to bend soon, lest she end up breaking instead.<br /><br /><b>Powers and Abilities</b>: Princess of Heart Abilities: Basically a resistance/nigh-immunity to dark abilities, and an ability to sense darkness. She's not <i>completely</i> immune to dark influences (as shown in the first game where her heart has to flee to Sora to escape) but she's able to shrug off the effects of things which ordinarily would cause some unpleasantness, like the corridors of darkness.<br />Keyblade: Kairi has very little experience in using it, but she <i>can</i> summon a keyblade, a magical weapon that acts as sword, magic focus, and universal key all in one.
